The sand beach at Seal Harbor is one of the few in Eastern Maine and offers a marvelous place for children to play and grown-ups to loll in the sun and enjoy a beautiful harbor.

At the head of Somes Sound, the only natural fjord on the East coast, nestles the oldest village on the Island-Somesville.  Its main street features stately trees shading a small mill pond and a museum of local memorabilia.
The harbor at Northeast Harbor is one of Maine's finest, each year attracting a who's who of sailing and motor craft from sleek racing sloops to large ocean-going yachts.

Acadia National Park borders all around, its hundred plus miles of trails and carriage paths winding their way across some of Maine's most spectacular scenery.  Golf, tennis, swimming, hiking, birdwatching, sailing, whalewatching, sightseeing or tossing a Frisbee on a village green, the Town of Mount Desert has something for everyone!
